Strategy Games That Actually Fit a 15-Minute Commute
People assume strategy means long, uninterrupted sessions. Some of the best mobile ones are built for exactly the opposite. The trick is finding games with quick save states and turns you can pause mid-thought.
Look for titles that autosave between turns and let you close the app safely. If a game punishes you for leaving mid-battle, it's a bad phone fit no matter how good the strategy is.
I keep two kinds in rotation: one skirmish-based game for short bursts, and one campaign game for evenings. Mixing them means I'm never stuck waiting to enjoy the type I'm in the mood for.
My advice: test the pause behaviour before you invest. Start a match, lock your phone, walk away for a minute, and come back. If the game handled it gracefully, it's a keeper for commutes.
